”Jag började med att forma om lådan så att den blev lite smalare och djupare. Jag förstärkte och vinklade sidoväggarna, främre baffeln och lådans topp för att undvika parallella ytor och potentiella stående vågor. Vinklar maskinbearbetades i lådans hörn för att gradvis minska baffeln med stigande frekvens. Även gallret på FOCUS SE har skulpterats för att förhindra diffraktion.
Medan toleranserna på FOCUS elementen är en strikt +/- 1dB av målbilden, matchas FOCUS SE elementens prestanda till +/-0,25 dB. De dubbla 12-tums bashögtalarna i Focus SE levererar oöverträffad linjär uteffekt med klipp och definition, med rik övre bas och ren övergång till det nedre mellanregistret tack vare en stora och kraftfulla magneter. Jag valde att använda Solen metalliserade polypropenkondensatorer importerade från Frankrike som bypass i högfrekvensnätet och flätad silverkabel till det övre bandet.
FOCUS SE's kvalitet och prestanda anser jag är oöverträffat av något annat företag till dubbelt så högt pris. Eftersom vissa mindre rum kan mättas i 60 till 80 Hz-området när de drivs av fullregisterhögtalare, kan kretsar konstrueras för att tämja sådana förhållanden - enbart i användning när det behövs. Svarta kromade konfötter, svarvade av massiv mässing, förankrar högtalaren ordentligt i golvkanten. En räfflad justerbar utjämningsbricka är inbyggd. En elastomerisk isoleringsdyna är installerad mellan lådan och konen för att förhindra att mekaniskt inducerad vibration når lyssnaren.
14-stegs Black Pearl-finishen härdas i tre veckor före timmars handpolering och polering. Det färdiga systemet skyddas av en skräddarsydd sammetsväska och omsluts av tre tum tjockt polyetenskum för transport.
